The Tasmanian Government is providing fee relief for volunteers who need a Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (RWVP). This will start on 1 January 2026 and run for two years. It applies to new and renewing RWVPs.

Commence the normal RWVP application process and the concession will be applied for anyone applying as a volunteer.

Vouchers to help with the cost of registration for sport and recreation activities are available for children aged 5-18 who are listed on Services Australia Health Care Cards, Pensioner Concession Cards or who are in Out of Home Care.

Vouchers can be used towards registration fees at approved sporting clubs, learn to swim centres, Scouts, Girl Guides, Cadet organisations and dance studios.

Two vouchers worth up to $100 each will be issued for each eligible child in 2026-27. Both vouchers may be used for the one activity, or each voucher may be used separately at different activity providers.

Vouchers to help with the cost of sport and community recreation club membership are available for older Tasmanians.

If you are living in Tasmania, are 65 years old or over, and are listed on a Services Australia Health Care or Pensioner Concession Card, then you can apply for a $100 voucher to use towards the cost of sport and active recreation membership and/or registration.

Eligibility:

• Living in Tasmania.
• Aged 65 years and over at the time of application.
• Be listed on a valid Services Australia Health Care or Pensioner Concession Card.
• Commonwealth Seniors Health Card and DVA* cards are not included.

*Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) card holders may be eligible to apply for the Veterans Wellbeing Voucher Program. For more information about how to apply for a voucher visit Veterans Wellbeing Voucher Program.

Vouchers to help with the cost of sport and community recreation club membership are available for Tasmanian Veterans who have a card issued by the Department of Veterans’ Affairs or can produce evidence of past service with the Australian Defence Force and for a partner/spouse of a former service member with a DVA Pensioner concession card (PCC), or a war widow/er with a DVA Veteran Card – All Conditions.

Eligible Tasmanian veterans may apply for two vouchers valued at $100 each ($200 in total). This voucher may be put towards the cost of membership fees, or associated costs at participating activity providers.

Eligibility:

• An eligible veteran (a veteran is a person who is a former member of the Australian Defence Force, including a reservist).
• Have a card issued by either the Department of Veterans' Affairs, or a card or identification number issued by the Department of Defence.
• Living in Tasmania.
• Must be participating in an eligible gym, community recreation or sporting club that requires the payment of an annual fee or charge to participate.
• Partner/spouse of a former service member with a DVA Pensioner concession card (PCC), or a war widow/er with a DVA Veteran Card – All Conditions.
