Eligibility for the Department of Human Services Commonwealth Seniors Health Card (DHS CSHC) is determined by the Department of Human Services (DHS). The DHS CSHC is available to self-funded retirees who do not receive a DHS or Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) income support payment.
The DHS CSHC is different to the Seniors Card issued by the Tasmanian Government.
You may be eligible for the DHS CSHC if you:
You must submit a claim for the DHS CSHC. The CSHC is renewed automatically in September each year, provided you continue to meet the Australian residency and income requirements.
If you already have a senior’s concession or health care card, you can access a digital image of your card from the Digital Wallet on your Express Plus Centrelink mobile app. The Digital Wallet lets you present your concession or health care card using your smart device. Some concession providers may not accept digital cards and you will still need to use your physical card.
